65. Boris has visited London boroughs six times as often as Livingstone | Local Government
The attack message on Boris Johnson from the Ken Livingstone campaign is that Boris is "out of touch" and "lazy" that as a "part time Mayor" with his weekly column for the Daily Telegraph has hasn't had the time to do his main job.A rather different picture emerges from the facts. The Mayor reports to the London Assembly on their meetings and visits. The records for the number of visits to each borough are below.

67. London Mayor Boris Johnson: I'll Stand for Parliament in 2015
London's shaggy-haired Mayor Boris Johnson has announced this morning that he will try and seek re-election to the House of Commons after his departure in 2008.Johnson had left his seat in the affluent Henley-upon-Thames in order to take the role as chief executive of London - a job which he has flourished in, gaining international credibility as the London Olympics stunned the globe. But now the Mayor, better known simply as Boris, is set to return to Parliament with a view to taking over the Conservative Party should David Cameron fail to win a majority at the next election in 2015.

68. Boris or Not, the Tories Will Never Sell Us Euroscepticism Again
Not for the first time, London Mayor Boris Johnson has waded into the debate over Europe, saying London is better off leaving an ‘unreformed’ European Union (EU), that there’s no need to fear an EU exit, and that there's a report by his economic advisor today to prove it. But would Boris really be prepared to leave Europe? Or is it a ploy to establish his Eurosceptic credentials to accompany his bid to stand for Commons re-election in 2015?After all, it is doubtful the pragmatic mayor would pick a side over the ideologically-fraught issue of EU membership if there isn’t something in it for him. Boris has urged ‘Cast-Iron’ Dave to sound tougher on so-called renegotiations and defend London from EU interference. He knows the public will not take the PM’s plan seriously if he’s not prepared to walk away when the EU fails to offer substantial reforms.

71. Boris opens his books in tax row but Ken ‘tries to wriggle out of it’ - Mayor - News -...
Boris Johnson today opened his books in a bid to end the tax row overshadowing the race for London Mayor — while Labour rival Ken Livingstone tried to back out of a pledge to do the same. All the main mayoral candidates pledged on BBC2’s Newsnight last night to publish full details of their earnings. Tory Mr Johnson, Lib-Dem Brian Paddick and the Green Party’s Jenny Jones stuck to their word today.Mr Livingstone told the BBC’s flagship political show: “I’m happy to publish details of everything I’ve earned in the last four years.”But today he issued a statement saying he would only offer “full disclosure” if his rivals published their partners’ financial affairs — an offer they are unlikely to take up. He was immediately accused of trying to “wriggle out” of the deal.

Lower council tax, more trees, scrapping bendy buses, extra coppers, sacking Ian Blair, resisting EU financial services regulation, fewer press officers, ending support for Third World dictators, signing the People's Pledge. 74. Reshuffle Close of Play BoJo Goes Loco, Herbert Quits Mystery, Gove Dream Team - Guy Fawkes'...
Dave’s first reshuffle has been far more wide-ranging than first thought, with a raft of junior ministerial positions changing hands this evening. The big news was Boris slamming the PM over his sacking of Justine Greening.Elsewhere the major surprise of the afternoon was Nick Herbert quitting as police minister to be replaced by Damian Green, someone who knows all about brushes with the law. There was reward at last for Michael Fallon, who has been made a privy counsellor and part of the BIS team apparently as a “counterweight to Vince“. Greg Clark gets a deserved job as City minister, with Liz Truss given an education post.

76. Dithering Europe is heading for the democratic dark ages - Telegraph
A Greek economy run by Brussels will ignore the lessons of history, leading to more misery, writes Boris Johnson.Every day we read of fresh horrors: of once proud bourgeois families queuing for bread, of people in agony because the government has run out of money to pay for cancer drugs. Pensions are being cut, living standards are falling, unemployment is rising, and the suicide rate is now the highest in the EU – having been one of the lowest.By any standards we are seeing a whole nation undergo a protracted economic and political humiliation; and whatever the result of yesterday’s election, we seem determined to make matters worse. There is no plan for Greece to leave the euro, or none that I can discover. No European leader dares suggest that this might be possible, since that would be to profane the religion of Ever Closer Union. Instead we are all meant to be conniving in a plan to create a fiscal union which (if it were to mean anything) would mean undermining the fundamentals of Western democracy. For the sake of bubble-gumming the euro together, we are willing to slaughter democracy in the very place where it was born. What is the point of a Greek elector voting for an economic programme, if that programme is decided in Brussels or – in reality – in Germany? What is the meaning of Greek freedom, the freedom Byron fought for, if Greece is returned to a kind of Ottoman dependency, but with the Sublime Porte now based in Berlin? It won’t work. If things go on as they are, we will see more misery, more resentment, and an ever greater chance that the whole damn kebab van will go up in flames.

77. Ken Livingstone is right: it's him or Boris Johnson. That's why I'm voting Boris –...
Ken Livingstone is right. When Jonathan Freedland announced he could no longer endorse Labour’s mayoral candidate because of his assertion that the Jewish community would not support him because of their wealth, Livingstone responded in a characteristically graceless but frank way. “Well, the simple, brutal fact that Jonathan’s got to face is Boris and myself are the two front runners. It’s no good saying you don’t want Boris, you don’t want me. Like everybody else he’s just got to make a choice.”While most political candidates try and attract voters, Ken Livingstone has, throughout this campaign, tried to bully potential supporters to the polling station. “Vote for me or else”, has been his unofficial campaign slogan. But, distasteful though this tactic may, there is no defying the logic. Next Friday one of two men will be elected mayor of London, and it will be either Boris Johnson or Ken Livingstone.Four years ago Ken’s campaign was lacklustre. This time it has been a disgrace. The hypocrisy and evasion over his tax affairs has become an embarrassment. His comments on the Jewish community would – had they been made by any other member of the Labour party, or against any other minority group – have resulted in immediate suspension and expulsion. As would his endorsement of independent Tower Hamlets mayoral candidate Lutfur Rahman.

78. ‘Project Utter Crap!’ Furious Tory backlash after Osborne warns that Brexit could trigger an 8p rise in income tax | Daily Mail
George Osborne is facing a furious Tory backlash today after warning that Britain would be 'permanently poorer' after leaving the EU.The Chancellor accused London Mayor Boris Johnson and other Leave campaigners of 'dishonesty' as he published an apocalyptic Treasury assessment of Brexit risks. The 200-page dossier predicted that quitting would trigger a 6 per cent slump in GDP and cost every household £4,300 a year. It also said an 8p rise in the basic rate of income tax could be needed to fill a £36billion hole in the public finances by 2030.But the report drew condemnation from a host of senior Conservatives, with 'laughably spurious', 'childish' and 'disreputable' among the politest descriptions. One backbencher said that the Remain campaign's 'Project Fear' approach had 'turned into Project Utter Crap'.
